Instructions
- Download only the latest version of the firmware.
- Copy the downloaded file to the root of an empty and formatted SD card. Do not rename the file (Important.)
- Insert the SD card into the camera and power on the camera. Ensure the camera has sufficient power so the upgrade doesn’t fail half way.
- Select the version number item in the Setup menu (last item) and confirm.
- Cursor to the check mark and select to confirm.
- The LED on camera will blink during update. Once complete camera will turn off.
- Turn the camera back on and verify that the firmware version has been updated.
- Reformat your SD card again within the camera Tools Settings.

LATEST VERSION 2.0.28 (24 Aug 2011) Keep zoom level after recording is done.
2.0.27 (10 Aug 2011) Improved night mode exposure.
2.0.26 (3 Aug 2011) Fixed bug with zoom.
2.0.22 (4 Jul 2011) Fixed issue where zoom level is not restored if at max.
2.0.21 (8 Jun 2011) Change setting to improve purple line problem caused by lens flare. Fix issue where LCD auto off was disabled during time lapse mode.
2.0.18 (25 Apr 2011) Fix issue where setting mic sensitivity to off does not completely mute audio in recorded video.
2.0.17 (20 Apr 2011) Fix issue with auto power off during time lapse mode. Restore zoom level after power cycle. Fix issue with out of range settings value when doing factory reset.
2.0.14 (25 Mar 2011) Fix issue that caused some remote to need to be reprogrammed during production because the ID clashes with X170 remote commands.

Notes
- Ensure that the upgrade process is not interrupted. If the process is interrupted the firmware on the camera may be corrupted and the camera has to be returned to the factory for repair.
- If an incorrect (corrupted) firmware file is used, the camera may signal an error during the update process
