The Marussia F1 Team is a young and ambitious Anglo-Russian challenger competing in the FIA Formula One World Championship. Headquartered at the new Marussia Technical Centre in Banbury, UK, the team is majority-owned by the Russian supercar marque,Marussia, based in Moscow.

With just two seasons of F1 competition under its belt, the team has enjoyed an extraordinary journey. It was founded in 2009, under the Resource Restriction Agreement that has redefined the sport’s commercial landscape, paving the way for exciting new entrants to challenge tradition and expectation. The Marussia F1 Team has been in the vanguard of a new era of Formula One, harnessing the commercial firepower of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin group of companies, one of its founding partners, to establish an innovative racing team concept for the future.

Drivers Timo Glock and Charles Pic challenged hard in qualifying yesterday with Charles delivering an impressive qualifying performance to lead the team’s challenge.  He starts  from 21st position on the grid, directly in front of  Timo, who had a less happy qualifying as he was unable to achieve a clean lap.

Pete has had a successful career in karting and F2000 cars in North America, including two championship wins in Canada. Currently he is competing in Asia Formula Renault, the highest-level formula racing series in Asia. Events include the Zhuhai International Circuit and Shanghai International F1 Circuit.

Pete seeks to become the first American to win the series – and in doing so to earn the distinction of becoming the first American to win a racing championship in China! His proven determination, focus and drive to succeed in all the other sports he’s been involved in, makes this ambition a definite possibility.

Wootton comes to Drift with 19 years of action sports industry experience, 15...]]> Setting the stage to take global brand awareness and marketing efforts to the next level, Drift Innovation has appointed Simon Wootton as the company’s new global brand manager, effective immediately.

Wootton comes to Drift with 19 years of action sports industry experience, 15 of which included various marketing positions at the top-tier sporting brand, Quiksilver, as well as two years as European Marketing Director at Reef. Beyond his professional experience, the Australian native, now European resident, is an accomplished surfer, board rider (snow and skate) and enthusiast of action sports in general, which furthers his connection with the Drift brand and its core markets.

As Wootton begins his strategic revamp of Drift’s marketing initiatives, his initial focus will be to align all existing global marketing efforts and clearly define Drift’s target consumer. His organized, collaborative and result-orientated management style will enhance all consumer and dealer touch points for the growing brand.

1. Eligibility: Drift Innovation Weekly Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open worldwide who are at least eighteen (18) years old as of the last day of the month prior to the date of entry. Employees of Drift Innovation and their parent and affiliate companies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable UK laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law. Once you have accessed the Sweepstakes Application, follow the on-screen instructions to register for the Sweepstakes.  Entrants who have previously “Liked” the Facebook Page do not have to repeat this step. Upon completing entry, you will have the opportunity to invite friends to enter and to publish the “Sweepstakes Message” to your wall. Then you can follow the links and instructions to complete and submit the registration form including a valid email address. Boxes are not permitted. You automatically will receive one (1) entry into the applicable Weekly Prize Drawing Entry Period. Limit: Each participant may enter one time per week during the Promotion Period. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Potential winners will be notified by mail, email or phone. Receiving any prize is contingent upon compliance with these Official Rules. If a potential winner cannot be contacted in the time period (if applicable) or prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits the prize. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during each applicable.

7. Release: By entering, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Promotion Execution Partners, Facebook, Inc., Administrator, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

9. General Conditions: Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Sweepstakes, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Sweepstakes, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
